Boy Smells Launches Limited Edition Pride Collection

Los Angeles-based candle company Boy Smells has unveiled its first-ever ‘Pride’ collection. The range features the brand’s signature scents – ‘Damasque’, ‘Cedar Stack’, ‘Prunus’, ‘Cameo’, ‘Anjelica’ and ‘Les’ – arriving in a spectrum of hues inspired by the iconic LGBTQ+ rainbow flag.

Each candle boasts a ‘genderful cocktail’ of masculine and feminine ingredients and comes in reusable glass tumblers. Committed to revolutionizing traditional binary ideas and celebrating all expressions of identity, Boy Smells aims to remember the longstanding values of the LGBTQ+ community through its latest line.

Boy Smells Cameo Candle

Going in rainbow order, the light pink Cameo has crystalized ginger, rose, tuberose, white woods, musk, and vanilla all wrapped into one candle. It was inspired by a polaroid Andy Warhol took of Dolly Parton and aims to promote empathy and self-love.

Boy Smells Damasque Candle

Following the gentler hue and scent is Damasque, which is named after the regal fabric and arrives in a spicy hot pink jar. It features the floral and fruity notes of rose and apricot, which bounce nicely off of the spicier, deeper scents that come from cardamom and tobacco.

Boy Smells Les Candle

Replaced in a refreshing orange glass, Boy Smells’ scent Les, which is comprised of black currant, peach blossom, jasmine rice, cardamom, and white cedar, symbolizes self-creation and transformation.

Boy Smells Cedar Stack Candle

In an equally invigorating yellow jar is Cedar Stack, which also has white cedar, as well as labdanum, juniper berry, sawdust, and white musk. It serves to remind you of the inimitable love and care of friends.

Boy Smells Anjelica Candle

Another of the six candles, and one that really jumps out, is Anjelica and its glossy green glass. Similar to the green stripe from the original Pride flag, Anjelica represents nature and celebrates resilience and self-acceptance with a musky, citrusy blend of ingredients like Sicilian lemon, powdery musk, and angelica seed.

Boy Smells Prunus Candle

Finishing out the rainbow is Prunus in a lavender glass, encouraging you to embrace all of your identities with its fragrance containing oakmoss, fig, plum, vanilla, and yuzu.

Additionally, in honor of Pride Month, 15 percent of the proceeds from this collection will go to The Trevor Project – an organization that provides crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to the LGBTQ+ community – with a minimum donation of $26,500 USD.

A standard eight-and-a-half-ounce candle retails for $34 USD, while a three-ounce votive set is priced at $102 USD. Te Boy Smells’ limited-edition ‘Pride’ collection will be available online and at select retailers from June to July. Come into the beautiful world of  Boy Smells.

Yakymour, home of Begum Om Habibeh Aga Khan, thè place in the mid 50's 'till the late 80's, where fashion, art, beauty and love meet each other, from all over the world.... Playing as a child in the garden of Yakymour was a happy, innocent time, thanx to ‘Grandma’ Yaky and to Sadruddin, where I could be fully myself and forget ‘the bad things’, and get some strenght. The Last 30 years working as cosmetologist and as a make-up artist for television, theatre, film, fotoshoots, fashion shows, celebrities and individuals gave me a trunk full of experience. My work brought me all over the world and had photoshoot's on location in the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, France, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, India a.o. At this Blog you will find many reviews of cosmetics, fashion, art, and everything beautiful, as an ode to Begum Om Habibeh 'Yaky' Aga Khan, and named after the place where 'everything' was beautiful: Yakymour. You will find here all the in and outs about skincare, perfums, and make-up, the do's and don'ts, the why's and how's.... The stories behind, and some great interviews... So when you have any question.... please ask. Come on in.... feel yourself at home at Yakymour! Jean Amr P.S. My apologies for future grammatical errors. English is not my mother language :)
