Watch the Trailer for ‘Lamborghini: The Man Behind The Legend’

Lionsgate recently released the first official trailer for ‘Lamborghini: The Man Behind The Legend’. ‘Based on the incredible true story’ of Automobili Lamborghini founder Ferruccio Lamborghini, the upcoming film chronicles “the long life of the iconic entrepreneur, from the manufacturing of tractors at the start of his career, to creating military vehicles during World War II, and then on to designing and building the Lamborghini cars that ultimately defined his profound legacy”.

Set against the backdrop of post-war Italy, this story mirrors the complex transformation of his homeland. From Lamborghini’s modest beginnings building tractors to the infamous rivalry he shared with Enzo Ferrari, his unparalleled genius made him a true icon in the automobile industry. However, his passions also ignited emotional turmoil in his personal life, which was full of both romance and tragedy. Told through a tightly constructed narrative style and imaginative visual design, ‘Lamborghini – The Legend is the true story of the man behind the machine’.

‘Lamborghini: The Man Behind The Legend’ stars Frank Grillo as Ferruccio Lamborghini, with Mira Sorvino, Eliana Jones, Francesca De Martini, Luca Riemma, Giorgio Cantarini, and Gabriel Byrne as his rival Enzo Ferrari. Written and directed by Bobby Moresco, a great focus is placed on Ferruccio’s rivalry with Enzo but a striking throughline throughout the project is the Lamborghini founder’s pursuit of unwavering perfection.

Watch the trailer for ‘Lamborghini: The Man Behind The Legend’ set to release in select theaters nationwide and on VOD November 18.

Omega Speedmaster makes another trip to space in Moonfall blockbuster

Omega’s Speedmaster Professional ‘Moonwatch’ is forever associated with man’s first lunar landing, but that may not resonate with today’s zennial bitcoin billionaires who prefer points of reference blasting at them from their Instagram feeds. The Speedmaster Professional, has been spotted on the wrist of the astronaut hero of forthcoming sci-fi action movie, ‘Moonfall’.

Helmed by ‘Independence Day’ director Roland Emmerich, ‘Moonfall’ sees the moon fall out of orbit and into a collision course with Earth. Patrick Wilson plays former astronaut Brian Harper, who is called upon to lead a mission into space to save the planet. Wilson can be seen wearing the 42mm stainless steel Speedmaster Moonwatch powered by Omega’s Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 3861.

One scene in the movie depicts Harper using the Speedmaster to keep track his remaining time before disaster echoing the real-life use of the chronograph to time a mission-critical burn during the infamous Apollo 13 mission.

James Bond Actor Sean Connery Dies at Age 90

Sir Thomas Sean Connery has died at the age of 90, according to his family. The Scottish actor was famed for his portrayal of James Bond, having originated the role of the British secret-agent 007 in ‘Dr. No’ in 1962. He went on to star in five subsequent James Bond films, ‘From Russia With Love’ (1963), ‘Goldfinger’ (1964), ‘Thunderball’ (1965), ‘You Only Live Twice’ (1967), and ‘Diamonds Are Forever’ (1971). Connery died at his home in the Bahamas.

We are devastated by the news of the passing of Sir Sean Connery. He was and shall always be remembered as the original James Bond whose indelible entrance into cinema history began when he announced those unforgettable words: “The name’s Bond… James Bond” — he revolutionised the world with his gritty and witty portrayal of the sexy and charismatic secret agent. He is undoubtedly largely responsible for the success of the film series and we shall be forever grateful to him.

Michael G. Wilson en Barbara Broccoli, producers

The actor was born to a working-class family in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1930. He became interested in acting in the 1950s after working backstage at a theater, and secured his first film role in 1957 in ‘No Road Back’. He was reluctant to star in the film adaptation of Ian Fleming’s James Bond series, but the movies proved to be one of the most iconic film franchises of all time.

When you think of Sean Connery, you automatically think of the most iconic movie car ever: the Aston Martin DB5 Touring. The DB5 was introduced in 1963 and made its star turn in Goldfinger the following year. Even though it ended its on-screen time with a crash, the DB5 forged a connection between Bond and Aston in the public consciousness. The car has appeared in six other 007 films since then.

After stepping away from the Bond series, Connery worked with directors such as Alfred Hitchcock and Steven Spielberg. At the peak of his career in 1988, Connery won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor in the movie ‘The Untouchables’ (1987). His repertoire also includes many other well-known films such as ‘Marnie’ (1964), ‘Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade’ (1989), ‘The Hunt for Red October’ (1990), ‘The Rock’ (1996) and ‘The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen’ (2003).

Later in his career he was offered the role of Gandalf in the famous trilogy ‘Lord Of The Rings’ (2001 – 2003), but he ignored this offer. He admitted in an interview that he did not understand the script. Nor would he return in the fourth ‘Indiana Jones’ movie of 2008.

He retired from acting in 2003, Connery enjoyed himself very much with recording the James Bond film in 2005 and said he would like to do it again, but it never happened again. There were also rumors about a role in ‘Skyfall’ (2012), but this role eventually went to Albert Finney. A longtime supporter of Scottish independence, Connery was knighted in 2000.

You are not alone

Cartel-MI-HERMANO-A3

‘Mi hermano – My Brother’ tells the story of Alberto, a young Spanish gay man who lives in Berlin a very different life than the one he led in his Castilian town with his conservative family. But after a call, he must return there to face the tragedy and his own lies that he built to get away from his family.

I like to think that the book he wrote at the end for his brother is real, published and available to purchase. It would be a beautiful dedication to all those who experienced the same all over the world.

So so beautiful and touching and poignant and meaningful. A beautiful and much needed story about our youth! Brilliant….. he wrote an ending for his brother that the 15 year old should have had if it weren’t because of the horrible parents.

You are not alone!

The movie is beautifully shot, the guys are charming, handsome and believable. What could have descended into porny cheese stays firmly on the side of a slowly simmering story of friendship turned into eye opening passion. The mixture is only odd in description, on screen, thanks to casting and director Tor Iben, it is touchingly well blended.

Cast: Sascha Weingarten, Julien Lickert, Henry Morales, Kristina Kostiv, Murat Dikenci, Jasper Joseph, Wolfgang Reeb, Thomas Wiesenberbg.

Brad Pitt and Leonardo DicCaprio in new Quentin Tarantino Movie

Once-Upon-A-Time-In-Hollywood-Quentin-Tarantino-Brad-Pitt-Leonardo-DiDaprio-Poster

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood will be the next comedy directed by Quentin Tarantino and has an absolutely all-star cast. The new Hollywood comedy starring Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio dropped its first movie poster. It will tell the story of two actors trying to make it in Hollywood.

The plot of the film will follow former star of a western TV series Rick Dalton (DiCaprio), former star of a western TV series, and his longtime stunt double Cliff Booth (Pitt). They will be living in Los Angeles in 1969 struggling to make it in Hollywood. However, things get a bit quirky because of Ricky’s neighbor, Sharon Tate. The film will also feature Margot Robbie, Damien Lewis, Al Pacino, Emile Hirsch, and Dakota Fanning.

The movie poster stays incredibly true to the hippie Hollywood vibe of 1969. The two actors both look fantastic in their wardrobe and the car in the back keeps everything grounded in the decade. It is sure to be an intense but quirky movie as we’ve come to expect from Tarantino.

Tarantino’s ninth film, Once Upon A Time in Hollywood pays homage to the ‘Golden Age’ of Hollywood. Hitting US theaters on July 26 and UK theaters on August 14, this highly anticipated film is sure to be a wild ride!

Women in Motion and La Cinémathèque française team up for a retrospective of Jane Fonda

Jane-Fonda-Women-In-Motion

For the opening night of this retrospective at La Cinémathèque française on October 22 2018, Jane Fonda, first recipient of the Women in Motion Award in 2015, will discuss her life’s work as an actress, producer and engaged philanthropist with Costa-Gavras, President of La Cinémathèque française and Frédéric Bonnaud, its Head. This Talk will be followed by a screening of Klute by Alan J. Pakula (1971), a film that marked a major turning point in her career and in her life.

Jane Fonda is an icon with a very exceptional destiny. Since beginning in the 1960s, she has never stopped reinventing herself. Her unique journey is one of liberation. Her career as an actress, initially marked by the glamor of her first roles, took a decisive turn in 1971 on the set of Klute, a thriller and especially a sublime portrait of a woman. For this film, she exchanged her role as a sexy muse for one with a complex and independent character; the disillusioned call girl as strong as she is moving, far from being a caricature. From this role she drew the premises for her future commitments, and would go on to say that it is this role that inspired her first feminist ideals. Her performance in this film went on to earn her a Golden Globe® and her first Oscar®.

Combative and passionate, Jane Fonda gradually put together her commitment to peace and equality: as a citizen, she became a militant activist. A proud feminist, a symbol of modern and fulfilled femininity, Jane Fonda was the first personality to receive the Women in Motion prize awarded by Kering in partnership with the Cannes Film Festival in 2015.

After receiving the Prix Lumière in Lyon on October 19th, Jane Fonda will honor La Cinémathèque française with her presence during the opening night of her retrospective. Inaugurated by a Women in Motion Talk during which she will discuss with Frédéric Bonnaud and Costa-Gavras, the evening will continue with a screening of Klute.

You know, 73 percent of Americans think we’ve passed it, but we haven’t. We scold Iraq and Iran and Afghanistan for how they treat women, but we don’t even have an Equal Rights Amendment.

Jane Fonda

Fonda, who is a brand ambassador for L’Oréal Paris, is also campaigning to create more entertainment content for older women, such as her Netflix series ‘Grace and Frankie’, co-starring Lily Tomlin.

Until November 5, filmgoers will have the chance to discover a selection of films depicting the fascinating evolution of this extraordinary actress. The Cinémathèque Française will screen 24 of her movies, including ‘Julia’, ‘Joy House’, ‘Cat Ballou’, ‘They Shoot Horses, Don’t They?’ and ‘A Doll’s House’.

About Jane Fonda

Jane Fonda was born in New York City in 1937. After having graduated from Vassar College, Fonda studied with renowned acting coach Lee Strasberg and became a member of the Actors Studio in New York. Fonda’s work on stage and screen has earned numerous nominations and awards, including Oscars® (Best Actress in 1971 for ‘Klute’ and in 1978 for ‘Coming Home’), four Golden Globes®, two BAFTAs and an Emmy Award. Along with starring roles in dozens of highly acclaimed productions, Fonda also took on responsibilities as a film and television producer. In 2007, Fonda received an Honorary Palme d’Or from the Cannes Film Festival. In 2014, she received American Film Institute’s highest honor, the Life Achievement Award.

In addition to her tremendous success as a stage and screen actress, Fonda has long been known for activism and advocacy on environmental issues, peace, and gender equality. Since 1994, Fonda has been Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Population Fund. With much of her work devoted to the program she founded in 1995, the Georgia Campaign for Adolescent Power and Potential (G-CAPP). She is also on the board of a number of NGOs, among them the Women’s Media Center, which she co-founded in 2004, and the Restaurant Opportunities Centers (ROC).

About La Cinémathèque Française

In 1936, Henri Langlois, a visionary figure, founded La Cinémathèque française in order to save films from destruction, along with costumes, sets, posters and other cinematic treasures. At the time, he was the first to consider cinema an art to be preserved, restored and shown.

Eight decades on and more than ever, in a resolutely modern building designed by Frank Gehry and devoted entirely to the 7th Art, La Cinémathèque française reveals cinema in a unique way via its numerous activities and one of the world’s largest film collections.
A veritable crossroads of cinephilia, it constantly takes a new look at cinema across all periods, horizons and genres. It thereby enables spectators to make wonderful film discoveries and the young generation to frequent the history of cinema on a daily basis.

Armie Hammer talks about that ‘Call Me By Your Name’ sequel… sorta

How much do I know and how much could I tell you are two very different things. I know a lot, but I can’t tell you anything. More than anything I trust the artistic direction to Luca and [novelist] André Aciman and to those guys who did such a good job handling it the first time around. The only thing I want to see is I want to see it happen. I want to do it again.

Actor Armie Hammer, on what he knows and doesn’t know about that upcoming ‘Call Me By Your Name sequel’ in the works.
