Burberry and Pop Trading Company Collide for a Liberated Skate Capsule

Following the unveiling of its sharp Fall/Winter 2022 Collection in March, iconic British fashion house Burberry has tapped Amsterdam-based label Pop Trading Company for a capsule collection inspired by global skate communities.

A fusion of Burberry’s design DNA and Amsterdam’s skate-inspired style, reinterpreting the sense of adventure and freedom in every Burberry piece.

Ditching signature tones of beige and birch brown, the range instead opts for a palette of grey, black and red, paying homage to dark cityscapes in Japan where skating is restricted during the day and comes alive at night. Among relaxed silhouettes and liberated proportions, the collection encapsulates the imprints’ twin penchants for sartorial exploration.

Under Burberry’s codes, the line plants a new blurred Check in an exclusive colorway onto technical parkas, zipped jackets, silk shirts, cotton cargo trousers and a multitude of accessories. Elsewhere, reflective Check resides on classic car coats and an enlarged Icon stripe is jacquard-woven onto a grey melange cardigan.

Meanwhile, oversized T-shirts, hoodies, baseball caps and a blanket are doused in dual-branding motifs, some of which include the exact coordinates for both brands’ headquarters, while others provide a more playful remix with animated lettering. For footwear, the collaboration offers deep maroon leather loafers detailed with a metal logo medallion.

Burberry unveils eco-friendly capsule collection made from recycled waste


Just this week, British luxury label Burberry has revealed the launch of a new eco-friendly collection – for men and women –  in an attempt to join the circular economy in fashion. Four Instagram posts over two days unveil the luxury label’s staple coats, such as the Jacquard Parka and classic car coat, remade through sustainable means this time.

The coat collection is manufactured from Econyl® by Aquafil, a nylon yarn made from raw ingredients such as industrial plastic, floating rubbish and nets from the ocean and textile scraps from factories. Burberry claims to be ‘disrupting’ the industry, with the new Econyl® line, by repurposing plastic strewn in oceans and saving fabric waste from going to landfill simultaneously.

Revealing the range of eco-friendly coats on social media this week, the brand posted several images on its Instagram account — including a photo of its Econyl® Monogram Jacquard Parka, featuring a modern silhouette, accentuated with logo-print taping and jacquard-textures. So far, Burberry’s new collection comprises of coats and jackets:

The new capsule collection is just one example of the 50 disruptions the company has announced that it is progressively actioning throughout its supply chain. British fashion house Burberry is launching new version fragrances of the original perfume Burberry Brit. Burberry Brit Summer Fragrances, which will describe the fresh and warm feelings of summer, will hit the stores later this year. Burberry Brit Summer for Women and Burberry Brit Summer for Men have the same bottle shape as the originals updated with lighter colors that inspire the morning Sunshine.

Brit Summer for Men has a nice fresh smell composed of ginger, lime, mandarin and cardamom along with rosewood, patchouli and cedar. The base is made of musk, vetiver and Tonka bean. The composition resembles much the original perfume yet this is lighter and more daily.

Burberry Brit Summer for Women

Brit Summer for Women opens with fresh notes of green tea, lime, iced pear and green almond along with sugared almonds and accords of peony. The base melts on the skin with mahogany, amber and white musky accords.

Burberry Sport is one of my favorite perfumes from the house of Burberry. It is wordless and every time I spray it on me, it as if lures me for the first time. I suppose Burberry Sport Ice Perfumes will be more icy, more flirty and more glamour. The new versions will show up early this spring.
