The beauty of power and the power of beauty

Battista is the very essence of Italian sports car design, with sensual curves that relate to the most celebrated cars of the ’60s. This was the moment in time when sensual design in cars accelerated, and Pininfarina was the undisputed leader of this movement. The body form of Battista speaks this Italian language, with the details developed in collaboration with each car’s owner adding unique personality.

The Exterior Jewellery Pack of the Battista is an important design element made out of aluminium, that can be customised into a bespoke painted or anodised variant.

The striking new colour Giallo Arneis, inspired by one of Piedmont’s most celebrated white wine grapes, is subtly repeated inside Battista’s driver-focussed cockpit. Its quilted seatbacks and door cards, trimmed in locally sourced semi-aniline leather, are hand-stitched in the same striking golden yellow with Battista’s trademark ‘triangolo’ motif.

Pininfarina Battista in elegant Verde Paradiso

The striking lines of the Automobili Pininfarina Battista weave cutting-edge aerodynamics with timeless Italian design. A lightweight all-carbon body, finished here in elegant Verde Paradiso, references Pininfarina’s trademark Sixties sensuality, while breakthrough technologies beneath deliver a driving experience utterly without parallel.

Whether outside or within, Pininfarina’s past and present have come together in the Battista to offer a unique sensory experience that makes Italy’s first purely electric hyper GT as unforgettable to drive as it is to behold.

Inspired by nature

A revolution in the automotive industry. That’s the Automobili Pininfarina Battista. This is the world’s first luxury electric hypercar. Because the Battista will be faster than current Formula 1 cars, it will be the most powerful car designed and built in Italy. The car goes from 0 to 100 in less than 2 seconds and produces 1,900 hp and 2,300 Nm of torque. Numbers to ponder for a moment. With a full carbon fiber body, the Battista is the visual definition of technology and driver-focused design.

Piedmont, Pininfarina’s home in Italy, is unique from a geographical perspective in that it is surrounded on three sides by the Alps. This spectacular scenery proves to be a constant source of inspiration to their design team, perhaps epitomised by the stunning specification you see here.

Finished in Verde Alpino and complemented by a striking red interior, this pure-electric hyper GT resonates with the colours of a vista that stretches out across the hills of Piedmont and into some of the highest peaks and the largest glaciers in Italy. It is an environment enjoyed by many among the Automobili Pininfarina family of designers and engineers.

This unique specification of solid Verde Alpino combined with brave red Alcantara showcases a different character of the Battista – one that simultaneously emphasises the vehicle’s luxury and elegance and yet presents a more powerful look that underlines the potential of the powertrain – a potential that is, even in relation to nature, extraordinary.

Pininfarina Creates Special Battista To Remember Leonardo da Vinci

Photographer: Lou Johnson

Pininfarina will mark the 500th anniversary of the death of Leonardo da Vinci by displaying a unique Battista during the British Library’s ‘A Mind in Motion’ exhibition.

When we talk about Leonardo da Vinci, almost everyone around the world knows who we are talking about. The best man was a gifted artist, scientist and philosopher – among others. It is therefore not surprising that today we still very much look up to the person da Vinci and what he has accomplished. We can therefore quite easily understand why Pininfarina has created this special hypercar, in honor of the 500th anniversary of Leonardo da Vinci’s death.

And for those who know nothing about the name Pininfarina, they are completely unaware of automotive design as it was once intended. The Italian design agency has designed the most iconic cars over the years, including many Ferraris. The name Pininfarina is therefore treated with great respect in car land and that is completely justified.

The current Automobili Pininfarina stems from the takeover by Tata Motors, when the originally design, development and production house went bankrupt. The Indian giant continues to position Pininfarina as a development company, but also links the car brand Automobili Pininfarina as a manufacturer of electric cars. Now Pininfarina has built a hypercar with the Battista that fully meets contemporary standards.

The first Automobili Pininfarina model was presented at the Geneva Motor Show last March. The Battista, named after the founder of styling house Pininfarina that started as Pinin Farina, comes in a limited edition of 150 pieces. Of these, 50 are reserved for the European market. During the unveiling, 22 enthusiasts immediately paid the desired 200,000 euros for a production location and 60 world citizens showed interest. The first copies should leave the factory in Cambiano in Italy in 2020.

This special ‘one-off’ version of the Battista was recently unveiled at the ‘A Mind in Motion’ exhibition by ex-F1 drivers Nick Heidfeld and Nico Rosberg and features a unique livery that combines blue, white, teal and red. As if the Battista wasn’t wild enough, this paint makes the electric hypercar stand out even more.

We are proud to be a part of the ‘A Mind in Motion’ exhibition because we are proud of what Italian design has brought to the world. Leonardo was a true Italian genius, the first person to combine the disciplines of art, design and engineering – and from Leonardo in the 16th Century to Pininfarina in 2019, these principles remain strong.

Luca Borgogno, design director Pininfarina

Pininfarina has confirmed that the Battista is now available to order for European customers. It is said that the Italians are looking for a Dutch/Benelux importer. We ourselves think that the Battista would not look out of place in the iconic building in the ‘noise barrier’ along the A2 near Utrecht, the Netherlands.

Maserati comes with Special Edition of GranTurismo and GranCabrio

Maserati celebrates 60 years since the 3500 GT was unveiled. The party comes in the form of the GranTurismo and GranCabrio Special Edition, the production run is limited to 400 units.

60 years ago, Maserati presented the 3500 GT, the car of which the GranTurismo is a distant descendant. Maserati is celebrating the GT’s anniversary with the GranTurismo and GranCabrio Special Edition.

The Special Edition is available in a special color, the three-layer paint New Rosso Italiano. The 20-inch wheels are finished in high-gloss black and fitted with special hub caps. Carbon fiber accents, including in the bumpers, are also part of the Special Edition.

The interior is decorated with a choice of leather upholstery from Poltrona Frau or a combination of leather and Alcantara. The stitching is available in different contrasting colours. Special Edition lettering, a plaque on the center tunnel and carbon fiber elements complete the decoration.

When the hood is opened, we see a 460 hp 4.7 liter V8 engine, coming from the Ferrari warehouse. Depending on the transmission selected, the top speed is 298 km/h (MC Auto Shift) or exactly 300 km/h (MC Shift). This also applies to the acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h: 4.7 sec. (manual) and 4.8 sec. (vending machine).

The 87th Geneva Motor Show is the unveiling location for this special edition. In total, Maserati will produce 400 copies, so the Special Edition can safely be called exclusive. The price of the Special Edition has not yet been announced, but you can already reserve it.
